Refreshing Fruits & Sangria in the Desert
I couldn't believe how hot it was that Sunday. It was so hot that balloons
were popping when it touched the ground, the water that was being sprayed
onto the concrete for a cool down and was drying up real quick,
and ice was being wasted from melting.
one hundred & twelve degrees!
in the shade, real hot, in the shade...
Fresh fruit was served beside the Sangria for the kiddies to grab
and eat and for the adults to add it to their Sangria.
I was hoping it would have guests feeling
replenished and rejuvenated throughout the party,
with the high temperatures.
Strawberries | Blueberries | Blackberries | Cotton Candy Grapes
Lemons | Oranges | Mandarins | Raspberries | Pineapples | Grapes
Herbs were an additional option to add to your Sangria.
I recommended pairing the Rosemary with the
Red Sangria. And the Mint with the White Sangria. With these sitting
out, the Sangria Bar was smelling quite fresh.
The White Sangria was a hit. I used Pinot Grigio for this.
It had this rejuvenating taste that you were actually
not able to taste the alcohol (dangerous). The aroma of the mint mixed with the
fruits when you opened the jar, smelt like a tropical concoction you
would get sitting by the beach, but no beach
As for the Red Sangria, I used Cabernet Sauvignon. This Sangria was more
on the heavy side with flavor. Using the option on pouring a little soda
water would have made the beverage a bit more refreshing with the
carbonation. I actually saw guests grabbing ice from the snow cone machine
and pouring Sangria right on top. Snow cones for adults, genius!
Combine all ingredients together into a air tight sealed container.
I had mine sit overnight. Made the night before the party and served within
24 hours. Any longer that that would have the Red Sangria start
tasting a bit tart from the citrus peels. I recommend adding fruit to the
bottom of your cup, then ice, then a spoonful of Sangria
of your choice. Garnished with Mint or Rosemary and/or a piece of fruit.
